PFM cast iron brake discs

The front discs on my ZX12-R are near the 4.5mm limit after 30,000 miles
with EBC HH pads and I need some replacements

Does anyone have experience of using PFM cast iron brakes? I'm told they
are good stoppers, but as they are iron I'm guessing they rust badly???. Do
they warp? Any problems to be aware of?

PFM do two types: the "Performance disc" and the "Supersport Upgrade Disc".
Not sure which to go for - The Supersport looks pretty trick

    Any advice or comments appreciated

    Eek!

Out of interest, was there a noticable improvement in performance with the
    HH pads?

    30k miles seems pretty poor...
    I'd guess the same, too.
No advice, I'm afraid although PFM seem reasonably well respected.

    Why not check out the chaps and chapesses at 200mph.org and zx-12r.org ;
there's a lot of knowledge on the -12R between those two sites. [1]

Lemme know what you end up doing, too.

[1] Although you have to put up with a huge amount of merkin bullshit on
    the latter.

But, but, but... Shirley, when you're using them, you don't *want* to be
    going forward?

That's the whole point, isn't it? Or have I misunderstood again?

Heh, the bike is a fuckin' money pit.
Kawasaki should bring out a ZX12R loyalty card or something.

Interestingly, I've recently discovered that I can get Carbone Lorraine
    pads for the Drifter.

No, they're "Carbonara Lorraine" pads. Made from a mix of pasta and
    quiche. Absolutely useless.

....with a girly name, too. Chickpads[1], then.

Mind, Bear seems to like them.

I have no intention of bothering. I just found it slightly ridiculous.

Mostly, I put my feet up, carefully wind the throttle partly open, and
wait for the front end to come off the ground.

I did 53K on ZZR1100C1 on standard Kawa pads - this showed no wear at all!

Word of advice, we post at the bottom here. It wouldn't do you any harm
to read our FAQ and in particular the ukrmscbt section

Address for the FAQ is in the bottom of my .sig. Read, digest and don't
come back until you fully understand what it says and means.
