*sigh* At the weekend a tile came off the roof of the house ... no
problem you might think but it decided to take a tortous route to the
ground ... via my petrol tank, and now there's a fekkin big dent[1] in
it, thankfully it didn't puncture the tank and I've used some touch-up
paint to cover it to stop rusting. :(

I almost got a replacement from eBay but lost it at the death, my
question is this, will a tank from a Bandit 1200 fit or am I stuck
looking for an actuall 600 tank?

[1] given the damage it did to the tank I'd hate to see what it would
    have done to a person.

Depending on the damage physically you *might* be able to get it "undented"

I doubt it. It's not like a 'push in' dent, the metal will be deformed
rather than just shoved around IYKWIM.

The slate hit where the tank curves and has made a nice kink in the metal.

    Ah!
    Bugga.

well time to get the local car paint store to sell you the necessary filler
and primer and rubbing down stuff then.

You could be right ... but going to keep a weather eye on ebay just in
    case I get a steal.
