    Hi,

Someone posted a URL to see how much petrol was locally...

Does anyone have that URL to hand?

    Cheers.

    Looks like I've found it...

and it also looks like Stoke-on-Trent is the cheapest at 80.9p - which is
nice. But bloody expensive! I remember when it used to be 38p a litre (back
    in 1983!)

Those were the days, 16 and wild.

And still exceedingly cheap for what it is.

38p in 1983 would be around £1.52 in real terms now.

    Ripoff Britain, eh?

It cost me 15 quid to fill up this morning (18(+) litres). I've never
really noticed it costing me more than 13 quid before.

If petrol prices matter to you, get a CG125.

79p a gallon in 1978 - it used to cost £1.25 to fill the TS185 from
    empty.

They don't, at least not enough for that sort of behaviour. It was
    just an observation, that's all.

  10. Just back from Orkney, where you can expect to pay about 91p/litre for
    unleaded there.

Aye, I remember when a quid's worth was enough to get me home from
    Liverpool to Derby.

I loved the exhausts on the Stinger, well weird looking.

    <Boring mode>

I've noticed that Stoke is usually cheap for petrol - recently it's
been up to 4p a litre cheaper to fill up in Stoke than around
    manchester.

There's also a shell garage just off the M6 at around J25 that's
usually a fair whack under brand stations and just under the
    supermarkets.
