Indeed, unless we nick their oil.
Only if you can create jobs for 20,000 ex-govmint employees at the same
time, otherwise the NI contributions will go up.
And lose the war on drugs? That would be almost as bad as losing the war
on people who don't quite manage to blow up Glasgow airport.

That's a good idea in theory and tends to produce results like the
Hillman Imp factory in practise. There are limits on the infrastructure
that can be created with government help and usually you end up with a
couple of vital but small ingredients missing - which is why so many
attempts to create another Silicon Valley have failed. Unless the secret
plan is to keep big companies in factories on the cheap.
Fair enough, but on the other hand if you're doing non-manual work, you
could probably work from home again. Only most employers seem to think
that you're goofing off and hence won't allow that.

I think that's the most likely reason.

    Nope, throw out 20,000 Poles
Actually it would be winning the war on drugs. Spectacularly.

Let's face it, the world of Homo Sapiens will end simply due to an
out-of-control profit motive. It's too far gone to stop now.

    Up to a point.

I'm not in favour of increasing non-means tested pensions. People in
their 50s and 60s have (mostly) had the opportunity to have final salary
pension schemes, good provision of 'free' education (for them and their
children) and have greatly benefitted from the rise in house prices (if
they have the sense to trade down at the right time.)

However I'm willing to accept an increase in the costs of motoring even
though it will cost me dear.

That's a fair point. I personally have an aversion to means testing,
not least because those who need the benefit the most are often the
ones that are least likely to apply, but I know I'm in the minority.

I do think there are too many women without a full stamp that ought to
    be paid a full pension.

Tax on best part of all companies here is now 0% - "zero-10". It
makes sense in some ways, but the money still has to come from
somewhere - and here, thats through the man in the street.

    Socially, poor. Business wise, great.

Indeed. No restrictions, cheap oil, 'life can only get better' etc ,
plus decent pensions , houses and the like.

What do younger generations have to look forward to? Poverty, social
instability, shortages, high taxes, over crowding - things can't only
    get better.

And still some of the rich[1] old cunts moan.

[1] Yes, I know not everyone is.
