He means that if you look at the thread title you will see that it has
changed. No longer does it have a pound sign in it, but a hash
appears to have replaced it. That's nice, innit.

The £ sign caused me probs when I tried to reply to a post, as
leafnode, for some reason, classed it as an illegal character. I saw
you'd replaced it by the # sign. Or didn't you?

Right, twisting in that direction now. It's a significant sum that
*was* your salary and is less than your current salary as indicated by
your statement that you had a promotion "to the next grade up :)"

It's good enough and you know it. I mean, why wait until now to say
it's not your salary when previously your approach has been "it was
answering a question about a job advert"?

No, nothing's upsetting *me* at all.

If you read what I've written there's nowhere I suggest it's *wrong* for
you to earn whatever you do. There's also nowhere that I said it was
*wrong* for you to post it or even figures in the region. Just that it
was disagreable. Personally I don't give a ****, really. You should
*know* there's nothing I like more than an argument so the subject isn't
    important to me.

Yes, glad we've got some agreement here. I can find the >40k post if you
    really don't believe it exists.
It certainly looks as if you've been enjoying it.

Strange you didn't tell me to "shut the **** up" this time. Why would
    that be I wonder?

Ah, righto. Due to A peculiarity of the newsreader I'm using, the
subject field displays as a "#" (hash) throughout the thread, without
me being aware of my post changing it.

No, I shan't, not Kiran. Maybe his house, car or bike though...

That's the point of arguing on usenet, isn't it? To present only the
other party's weak points, and then demolish them.

I'm as happy to tell people what I earn (well, make) as I am
    disinterested in what they earn.

Well it shows you've nothing else to say really.

Fact is you posted your salary; sure not your *current* salary but a
very recent one. You've denied this and twisted and turned, the fact
    remains.

And that, my angry little friend, is the only point I had to make.

Listen to this man, he's a professional.

Mind you... so am I kind of. A lot of my role involves 'negotiating by
committee' which is kind of arguing. Well it is the way I do it.

    LOL!

As I said up there ^^^ somewhere, I only wanted to
point out that I don't "take every opportunity" to tell
the world about my salary. This fact also remains.

Really? Seriously, I'm genuinely interested in what you think it reveals

(er... this is genuine interest and not sarcasm).
