So you're admitting you're wrong then? Nice.

No, not at all, I'll admit I was exaggerating but I wasn't wrong. One
one occasion you posted "just short of 50k", on another "in excess of
40k", in IRC an actual figure, I'm sure this is only the tip of the
iceberg if I could be bothered to look.

You're still an insecure **** trying to prop up your self image by
disclosing your 'wealth' on a semi-regular basis.

Well, given that you're one of the parasites on society I would expect
    you to.

I wouldn't dream of disclosing my salary in a public forum whether it
was high or low. It's just something one doesn't do.

Didn't watch it, I had to go to pick my youngest up from a party.

Unfortunately the parties are all very reminiscent of my first fumblings
into adolescence and onto adulthood. Chatting with another of the
parents neither of us could believe we'd got quite this old and that it
was our children at this party and not us...

But, the programme did strike a chord with me last week, one of the
grumpy old men said "I couldn't believe my generation would grow old".
I must admit I had that belief too, stupid really.
Oh, it's a useful method to stop people hassling you to show them how to
    use theirs.

    wibbled incoherently...
You should try attending your daughter's 18th and 21st birthday parties,
and being surrounded by her gorgeous 16-24 year old mates. It's either
heaven or hell, depending on your view.

    Strange how things turn out.

And what's even stranger... is when you find yourself unconsciously
acting in *exactly* the same way as your father did for a given
situation. Where you despised his reaction when 15 suddenly you find
you have his reaction at 40.
People turning into their parents or at least into a version of them.
    Hey, give it 5 years.
What would the point be, we'd be rebelling against human nature:

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great
men are almost always bad men"; this was first said in 1887...

I mean, not wanting to get too political but we kicked out the Tories
for being sleazy, unfeeling and generally out of touch with the
electorate. New Labour has managed to assume many of these 'qualities'
in a short space of time.

I'm happy to turn into my parents: they're political, active,
    progressive, thoughtful, tolerant, decent people.

Hook, line and Angling Times then?

I see we've moved on from "every opportunity" to "on
a semi-regular basis" now. I expect next post it will
    be "once in a while"?

FYI, I've *never* disclosed the actual amount I earn at
all, and never will. Not on UKRM nor on IRC. If you still
want to maintain that I do, prove it. Alternatively,
    shut the **** up.

If you'd bothered checking the link Lozzo posted, you'd
see that the amount discussed (50k) was actually in
relation to the job advert I posted rather than being
    *my* actual salary.

And, while we're on the subject, I think you'll find
that I'm actually quite low down on the list of UKRMers
    that flaunt their wealth...

But hey, never let the facts get in the way of a
    good argument on UKRM, huh?

Reminds me of a .sig observed on another ng:

"For the first 10 years of your life you try to be as much like your
    parents as possible,
For the next 10 years you try to be as little like them as possible,
Then for the rest of your life you slowly turn into your parents."

Probably true to a certain extent for the majority.

Sorry, you're trolling me or I'm trolling you?

    I doubt it very much.
How can I prove what you said in IRC? I remember the incident so it's a
question of who's wrong; you or I. Neither of us can provide any proof
    of this at all.

And I won't "shut the **** up" either.
    Umm... Let me see...

    Here's a direct quote:

"It depends on your experience. I had 6 years VB when I went
there and was on a smidge under 50K. I've since been promoted
to manager of the team, so I'm the next grade up now :)"

Let me paraphrase "I was on a smidge under 50k". That's a direct
    statement.

Of course as per normal you'll follow up to the bits that suit you and
    ignore the bits that don't.

I know you posted this, you know you posted this and so does everyone
else. But delude yourself and try to twist all you want.

Apart from Cane you seem high enough up the list to me and at least
Cane's is an (attempt at) humour.
Well, quite I think the above shows that you don't.
