    That would be:

    A) "Lower registration-taxes for motorcycles" (currently approx. 180%) and
    B) "Longer roads"... :)

Being 50% co patriot with said chef and 50% with the Norwegian
Blue, I can confidently rule out Swedish and Norwegian. I mostly
understand it, so it's not Icelandic. Must be Danish.

    How much!!?

Is that because Danish society not keen on motorcyclists or does that
sort of tax apply to all forms of motorised transport?

Perhaps you should try up and down instead of side to side.

The general level of the tax (which was originally intended to control the
national trade-balance; Denmark not being a producer of cars or motorcycles)
applies to both motorcycles and cars registered for private use - although
the tax is marginally more abusive for motorcycles... I'm not sure just how
much a new 2004 ZX-10R will cost you in the UK, but the price for the very
same model in Denmark is what translates to more than 21500 GBP...
Ahaaa! That *would* explain the very short roads and the unatural large
    numer of lanes..! :)

*Hands over brown paper bag for 'rebreathing' and does math again* Kawasaki
    ZX-10R, DKK 227995 - which at 10.957 DKK/GBP equals GBP 21515 and 5 pence...
It looks correct - if not "right"! :)
The Common Market is as fine as it has always been (or not - depending of
course on your personal opinon!) and the danish government is (as always)
struggling to be allowed special national taxes to be a sovereign national
issue rather than a european one.

Obvious explanation is of course, that quite a lot of money (ie. ~50%
income-tax, 25% VAT and fx. the ~180% registration "fees" for private
vehicles) flows from the pockets of danish tax-payers - and some of these
would of course NOT land in the 'national danish piggy-bank', if the EU had
anything to say about the matter and the danes were allowed to shop their
cars and motorcycles abroad without heavy taxation.

It costs less than half that over here, and with a decent deal you'd
get it to nearer a third.
