Why do people always strap their bike on like that?

 

Prolly to stop it falling off ;-)

 

Dunno about the trailer but that's a lovely looking crosser on it.
Anybody know what it is?

 

Strapping it over the seat wont stop it falling off. Putting a hook on the
handlebars and compressing the forks down will.
If you shake the bike and the trailer moves your OK.

 

Which is why a trailer might be a useful extra to leave enough room in the
van for the beers!
