Is there anyway i can listen to mp3's on my pc using headphones plugged into
the cd or dvd headphone socket on the front of the pc? It works if i plug
them into the soundcard on the back but, like life, my headphone cable is
    far too short.

flash emerged from their own little world to say
Yes. Connect the socket, internally, to the soundcard.

Turn the PC round, back is the new front.

Don't be daft - much easier to sit at the back of the desk.

you'll need a decent mirror so you can see the screen, mind.

LOL - yeah - for more reach go for the 1/4" version )

p.s. an alternative would be to buy dozens of 3.5mm -> 1/4" stereo jack
converters (and the same number of 1/4"->3.5mm converters) and string 'em
    together!

And, I suppose, long arms to be able to reach the keyboard.

Also an elaborate pulley system for desk drawers, too, I shouldn't
    wonder.

And of course some right angle bends or it would just end up further
away from the front of the PC.

Right angle bends will slow the signal down too much - better to go for
    pairs of 45 degree bends.

    Would this require countersteering?

  19. No no, you just need a decent pair of sticks.

I thought it would be better to have curves in the cabling, so that the
    '1's don't get stuck.
