Finally spoke to CN this morning, after collating all the info about
other people getting unlimited mileage policies...

Explained to matey that when I took the policy out I had stated that I
wanted unlimited mileage when I took out the policy but was told that
they could only provide for a maximum of 10k/year. He thought this
sounded a bit off so he started to play with the policy a bit and
*bingo* same policy with unlimited mileage. Cheers.

Unfortunately he also confirmed that the policy has a limit on the
value of the bike I can insure - I hadn't been told that they wouldn't
insure bikes that are worth more than 4k when I took it out. I don't
have a problem with that per se, but I hate finding out little details
like this afterwards, *especially* when they're not mentioned in the
documentation that you get with the policy.

I think I'll be writing them a not-too-nice letter pointing this out,
because it's not quite the first they've made a cock-up like
this. OTOH most other brokers are a lot worse so I'll probably have to
    stay with them anyway...
