not that I want to be seen siding with Des, but groups.google gives
nearly 10,000 hits for "Bastard Bear" and an associated email address
    with that name in it...

  3. Not that I'd want to be seen nodding my head at something darsy says [1],
but the idea that using someone's first name in a post could constitute
'obsession' is so 'out there', that even I'm having difficulty seeing the
    logic in it.

Oh Jesus, why did I write, 'even I' .........?

he's a fucknugget and no mistake. I realised that fairly early on[1]

[1] about 3 years ago when he start wittering about Lockerbie being
caused by CAT rather than a bomb.

Well obviously. I can see you're a natural Sub and most likely wise to it.

  12. Is everyone being very dense today, or am I actually thinking about
what people say rather than using some cockroach-like reflex to post?

Synonyms are fine, but when someone is using a "false" name to
avoid dragging usenet and all it's firebomb wielding nutters into
real life, it is generally considered polite to address with that
"false" unless you are trying to "scare" them into thinking you
are some firebomb wielding nutter who "knows where they live".

Added to the fact that it was previous mentioned *years* ago,
and you get to the stage that a) you have a stupidly good memory
for trivia or b) you're obsessed with that person and have a little
wall in your house with post-it notes stuck to it with "important"
facts and photos and things circled in red about that person.

Yes, he introduces himself as Bear, so just shut it with that
objection, okay? It's why it's in quotes.
because you're a muppet who doesn't know how many periods there
    are in an ellipsis?

  13. You _seriously_ believe that the use of what is probably the UK's most
common Christian name, could be even _remotely_ threatening ??
It's not like it's easy to forget ...

    Yes?

    Understand why I used them?

  16. For the same reason that I (and others) have occasionally referred to Champ
as 'Neal'; ditto for TOG; I've referred to Tallbloke as 'Rog' [1], have
called BRC 'Jen', KHH, 'Paul', and so on. In short, I reckon that the
majority of people on UKRM have, at one time or another, used a poster's
real-life name on UKRM. There is one exception, one person whose name I
used once, before he e-mailed me to inform me (something of which I was
unaware) that he didn't want it used. I haven't done so since.

You're _really_ going to have to dig deeper than that. I hardly respond to
any of Bear's posts, whereas he follows me around UKRM like a bad smell.

    HTH.

[1] I don't recall if his real name is in his .sig

  18. Bear, having been posting to Usenet during the time you still thought that
CD-ROM drives were for holding coffee, I've sort of got used to the sort of
infantile jibes which you use above. in
particular is not the place to hang around if you're a sensitive sort of
    soul.

In short, being called 'liar' (especially by the likes of semi-literate,
    live-off-others'-charities, 'world-owes-me-a-living' dossers like you),
really does incite no other response but laughter.

    LOL !!
