    .....from MCN (1st Oct 2003)

Are you free this weekend? Do you fancy getting in some end-of-season
track time? Can you speak French? If so, how do you fancy a free, all
expenses paid, weekend in the south of France?

The European Superbike school is looking for a fluent French speaking
rider to go with them this weekend for their three-day track session
at Nagaro. You'll get all your expenses covered and three days of free
track time. All that the school is asking in return is that you
translate for them when the need arises.

The school will ride down to Nagaro, departing from Portsmouth this
Friday evening, October 3, for the overnight ferry to Le Havre. You'll
spend a day in the town before the two-day ride down to the track in
the south of France. Then you'll spend three day's lapping the track
before turning round and heading for home.

And don't worry if you haven't got your own bike, one of the team will
take you as a pillion, but it would help if you had your own riding
    kit.

If you speak fluent French and can get the time off work, phone Tony
at the European Superbike School on 01474-872941 or 07870-656920.

If you can speak French then call the European Superbike School for a
    free trip to Nagaro.

Is this a fictional mobile made from string and 2 baked bean cans, a bit
    like your fictional R1?

  9. Heh. What took you so long ?

Anyway, yer man Des can give you all a scoop: it's not a weekend 'thang',
as reported in MCN, but an eight-day stint. Leaving Friday, across to Le
Havre, and thence down to ... erm, wherever the thing's taking place. Back
to UK not this Sunday, but Sunday next.

I know this 'cos I got the bloke on the phone, using my fictional landline.
All expenses paid etc., and the 'spare' bike on which the lucky,
bikeless, lawnmower-owning dropout will be pillion, is a Triumph Tiger.

Eight days is too long for me. Arse. :-(
