Parking Wardens

  1. Indeed it is. The new MD is ex-Cab's lot. Or is it Ash's missus? Or
both? I've lost the plot now, but whatever lot just got sold for
    eek-dollars. Yes, them.

That's no surprise. Jeez, doing business in Italy is a nightmare. It
_is_ like working with the Mafia.

  3. You've only gotta look at our Sales, Marketing and Directors CV's to see
they've all whored themselves around the industry - still, I guess it's
no different in any other business, most people stick to what they know.

One of our recentlyish ex-sales directors just turned up as MD at one of
the more 'one-stop-shop' of our competitors European business. It
certainly ruffled enough feathers in our lot to appear 'Inter'esting.

'MEC' - maximum effect caused, judging by the emails that went about
    after the grapevine rumbled.

  5. Heh. They're pretty good so far, actually, quite decent kit. We're
looking to standardise on one make for some bundled apps we're
releasing to a channel pre-loaded onto the hardware, and they're
probably ahead of the others right now. Still, bags more testing to do.
( i.e. more toys to play with )

I'm still absolutely amazed at how much of a "boys network" there is in
our line of business. I've seen it in the IT field, but that's nothing
compared to our line of work.

  7. Mini computers at a guess. (ie no, not a clue, there's a plethora of
    such devices/manufacturers out there)
Well, it's possible that each unit could have a GPS tracker inside.
Plenty of Transport companies have such devices in the cabs of their
    truck etc.
