A new breed of high-tech parking enforcers are hitting Northern
    Ireland's streets

I happened on two of them fresh out on the streets of central Belfast
today. They had just finished issuing on the first Mark. Red Mini One in
a bay not displaying. I greeted them with a toothy smile, they dropped
their guard, then "good morning cunts" as I sailed past, momentary
    bemusement then a scowl.

I do trust they are planning to enforce regs on the Falls and Shankhill
    Roads.

Amusement aside, this last corner of the UK is fading fast.

We can only but hope. There lies a common enemy. What better way is
there is to bring all sides together?
Don't worry, the handhelds they're using are shite. Drop them and
    they'll be in pieces soon.

BTW, did you notice that the plump geezer here:

That's a good point. I always thought the IRA should have parked up
motion sensitive car bombs in London when clamping was introduced. Great
    PR.
    Aye, it wasn't him though!

  4. Hard to tell from the pic, but they look like Psion Teklogix, but not
ruggedised and not in aftermarket rugged cases. Oops. Could just be a
    stock photo mind...

    Heh, *ding* again. :)

As for your point that it could have been a stock photo, it may be a
real one, as the arm is traffic warden coloured.

  8. *perk* that's at least three of us [in ukrm] in vaguely related industy
    then.
Realised that after I'd posted, although photoshop can be wonderful at
that. Matters not either way mind.

The Beeb photoshopping? Nah, never. :)

Who's your mob? Mine's the one that's recently been bought out by the
big "phone" company. And who's the other that's in the same vaguely
related industry, apart from Ash's missus.

  10. Did you see that they recently admitted being biased?
We're the herd of stripey people.
Now, there's a 'sign' of the times. Saw that coming, well, perhaps not
    the buyers, but the event.
I didn't realise Ash's missus was. I was thinking of that jock Dave
    Jennings.

    Heh, yes, hence the smiley.
    Ah righty. I know now.
I'm too new to the company to know the full history, but it's a
definite bonus by all accounts. It's been on the cards for ages
    apparently (according to rumour control).
    And he's with?

  12. Small world, but quite comfy.
What's new? I've been with this lot 9 years or so, it's whole new world
    since those days.
Depends on their intentions, but I guess they're mostly good, as long as
    they don't diversify too much.
Can't do that one subtley except to say they're quite Envigour-ating but
they're not a big player in our terms, although they work with us,
perhaps yourselves too. They've won and been shortlisted for quite some
awards, Emerging Entrepreneur, Innovation and Creativity to name but two.

    Who's Ash's missus with then?

No, the Hitlers were in Dublin, not Belfast.

Nah, I don't think so. It's all very much complementary.
Ah, I see. Their website is mostly broken, atm.
Same mob as myself, but based in the UK.

  17. Tis, actually. The usual delay overwhat goes where and what video clips
to include, yah de yah. I'm having nowt to do with it, I'm looking
after an RFID deployment between 3 sites in UK so someone else has been
told to sort it, and pronto.

We're working with DNC's lot, and also an Italian mob, and have worked
with various teams at Cab's lot for an OEM project we commissioned.

The Italian mob isn't logically speaking a data firm?

  19. My ex-MD went to them, left them pretty sharpish to get back to blighty
as I understand it. It's an incestuous business, that's for sure.
