What do you think my chance of having this over turned are?

I parked my bike in an area for pushbikes (1) between two securing points
and chained it to them. The traffic warden gave me a ticket saying that as
the area was pedestrianised between 1000hrs and 1600hrs I was parking in a
    restricted area.

The bike was parked at one of four securing points along this street, I
pushed it to the point, and it was actually on the pavement not the road and
not causing any obstruction. There are no signs saying not for motorcycles.

    (1) out side the globe pub Leigh town centre.

Not that I'd do this *cough*, but you either have to push*cough* it
along the pavement or go between the no-entry signs to get to it. The
railings themselves seem a bit FOAD for pushbikes.

Given that they took away the free bike space on the market carpark and
put in a "you must pay to park your bike here"[1] space instead, I
don't think they'll look too kindly on it. Best of luck though.

[1] There's an anchor point with a little flap on it. You buy a ticket,
put it in the window in the flap, then when you chain your bike up to
it it locks the ticket in. As the free bike space was too small to get
a car in and usually empty it was a real sledgehammer/nut thing,
especially as they took away a car space to put this new thing in.

  9. I got a ticket parking my FJ12 on a piece of road the other side of some
bollards in a pedestrian area in Canterbury (by the side of the post
office for those that know it). The traffic/road guy at the council I
phoned up was a biker he drew my attention to the facts:
1/ I pushed it through the bollards not rode it.
2/ The bollards were wide enough to do so for a motor bike and as such
did not act as a traffic deterrent for a motor bike.
3/ There was no sign within the prescribed distance telling me I
    couldn't park there.
4/ And that I should look at the 'Definitive parking restriction plan
for Canterbury' (The council have to have every piece of yellow line
approved for it to be legal. Often they don't bother if it is to join up
a few bits or to tidy up things in their eyes.) The area I parked in was
    not a no parking area.

I wrote in complained, they cancelled the ticket, gave them line and
verse and told them to make the area a bike parking place.......... AND
    THEY DID!

    I'd give it a go.
