I'm like that at the moment with Anya using the car. I now know
exactly how my Dad was feeling when I was going out in his brand new
BMW straight after passing my test.

I've got three boys 19, 15 and 12. The fact that they all have mobile
phones [1] so I can find out where they are, has made a massive
difference to how much I worry.

[1] Assuming that they are in possession of said phone, that it's
charged, has some credit etc etc etc . . .

And, of course, assuming that they don't tell porkies about where they
    are when you phone them.

Who cares where they are, at least they're alive and unhurt enought to
    answer a phone.

Absolutely. They are big boys and girls what they do and where they do
it is entirely their own business and none of ours, provided the
    summonses are delivered elsewhere.

I was chatting with one of my mates in the US recently about something
similar. His son was at a friends place and was supposed to be home by
    a certain time.

Said son didn't turn up and after an hour or so, my mate got a tad
concerned. He called the old Bill and within 30 minutes, they had 4
squad cars all over the county [1]. looking for his son, with another
couple of cars doing checks at all his sons friends homes.

Within another hour or so they found him wandering the wrong way too.

This gives you an idea as to how busy they are sometimes in the US:

[1] Some merkin counties are fairly small, so it probably gave them
    something to do.

I refer Sir to Mr Arlo Guthrie and his songologue regarding matters
arising from compulsory national service in his countries armed forces.
Specifically I should draw your attention to the matter of a large
number of "8x10 color glossy photographs" taken by the police as
evidence to support a charge of littering on a public holiday.

I believe the original version of this tale was told in the mid 1960's,
which rather suggests what you suggest has been common enough policy for
a sufficient number of years for it to have passed into folk legend.

I wound't bother then. Little Britain is just the latest in a string
of unfunny 'comedies' that substitute 'being wierd and stupid' for
    something approaching humour.
    WTF are you then?
Looks v. nice. You do know that the pool's illegal now, as of last
month, without a fence or hard cover, don't you? Mine dew, so's ours,
but not for long... one of these
http://www.venus-ondine.com/gamme09.htm (but 7 angles) going up next
    month.

  18. Be fair, it does have its moments. Like .. errr...

    OK, it's shit.

The first programme I saw seemed mildly ok in parts, but subsequent
viewings showed it up for what it is - a series of the same bloody awful
    joke(s) mindlessly repeated.

  20. You've lost me there. Still, since I didn't explain Vicky P I guess I
can't really expect you to explain this one.
As others have said, it's rubbish, but worth watching to see what it's
about. People are on about CAtherine Tate at me recently, s'pose I'll
have to watch her now too....
