pannier keys

  1. So I managed to lose the keys to the hack bike on Friday.

I have spares for the ignition and top box, but it appears I don't for
the panniers - either the keys for the panniers themselves, or the locks
that hold them to the racks.

The pannier keys are pressed metal things, I could probably use a
paperclip to open the panniers, but the rack locks are a bit more
    substantial.

The panniers are Krausers, of the kind airhead BMWs used to sport
in the 70s, the black square suitcase kind.

Anyone have any idea where I might pick up keys or key blanks for such
    things?

When I took my "key" for my black square 70s BMW panniers to a locksmith, he
just laughed. It's the last 25% of an ordinary Yale key, home-bodgied. So
maybe a bit of steel wire (more substantial than a paperclip), and/or a small
file, would do the trick. Let me know if you'd like to borrow the Yale.

Gary (bolts and wingnuts on the R65, thanks for asking)
