Painting the wheels on a Gilera Runner?

    Hi

    I finally got my first moped, a 2001 model Gilera Runner. Bought it off
    someone I know for £400. Luckily my provisional came in the post the morning
    I picked up the ped. Rode it to my uncles house because he has a spare
    garage where I can work on it. Haven't got round to insuring it yet.

    I've decided to spray paint it red & black for two reasons;
    1) it was blue & white and looks really dull.
    2) in this area it's not unknown for the former owner of the bike to tell
    all their mates that it's been stolen. They then steal the bike back so the
    former owner has the bike and the buyers money.

    If you're thinking why didn't I pick up the registration document with the
    bike - they conveniently go missing. So I've had to apply to DVLA and have a
    4 week wait.

    Painting the body panels has been easy but painting the wheels looks a much
    harder job. Anyone have any suggestions for the best way to go about it?

    thanks

    Tom
