He'd need one on the big 50ml tins of humbro paint I'd reckon.

I want to tidy up my kwack a little, and as well as trying to achieve
a better fit for the fairing/screen/air-tube things at the front end,
I'd quite like it to look a little nicer. The tail unit is currently
silver/black and the tank is currently silver. The
fairing/light-surround/undertray is all black. I think the easist to
do/easiest on the eye fix would be to go black all over.

So, any idea how much it would cost to get a (ZX-7R) tail unit and
tank sprayed (black)? With a reasonable finish, rather than
    manufacturer-perfect, IYSWIM.

When I used to paint D&D figures I'd just pick them up by the base and dunk
them in primer. Then I'd give them a coat of whatever, dunk them in diluted
black ink for the shadows and drybrush some highlights on it. I could do
about 20 in a hour and they looked pretty shit.

    Any good?

Thing is, what colour scheme to choose? A wizard? An orc? Kirk on a plastic
    island with a space octopus?

Naked tart in chains wrestling a giant snake ridden by the tango guy,
superimposed on a faux japanese pepsi logo.

either that or a perfect replica of the bike parts beneath.

flash@work left a note on my windscreen which said:
You do do away with the Haynes Manual I guess.

Unrelated to this, have you seen the trailer for The Comedian? It's got the
guy that does all the voiceovers for films and it's fookin' funny.

If you haven't seen it, check it out.

In that case I expect they probably do it in Waitrose. Not necessarily
better quality mind but certainly more expensive, which should suit your
    needs well enough.

Go to a couple of 'under the arches' type paint shops local to you with
the bike. Explain what you want and get quotes for them to paint loose
    panels. I reckon about £125 - £175.

All gloss black with large matt black graphics/logos should look pretty
    good.

don't be stupid - wicker is for fairings, not for tanks.

as much as that? I mean, it's not a large area to paint - I'm only
talking about getting the tank and tailpiece done - the fairing is
already a gloss(ish) black. Still, I'll get some quotes.
Well, I was thinking along those lines, actually - maybe CF
    graphics/logos, though.

That'll be out the back, between the polka dot paint and the tartan.

Its not the materials, it's the preparation time. I was only counting
    the tank and tailpiece.

Tank an hour to prep, hour to paint, tailpiece 45 mins to prep, 45 mins
    to paint £30 p/h - Materials about £30. At a guess.

    Hmmm, not so sure.
