Paint for shock-spring

Discussion in 'Motorbike Technical Discussion' started by Torgeir Haukenes, May 14, 2004.

  1. Hi all,

I`ve stripped down an old Ohlins damper, and I thought I`d touch up on
the spring before refitting it. Do I need a special paint due to the
springs springyness, or wil ordinary spraypaint do?

Thanks for any reply - warped or not.

Powder coating would be good unless you're looking for the $2.99 answer.

  3. I know, but that`s something that will have to wait until I know how
the rebuild works out. I`ve never done one before, so it`s kind of
terra incognito for me - but fun anyway.

So for now, the cheap option is what I`m after.

I agree. I had my spring powercoated not long ago. Cost me 25 bucks
australian, including blasting. That was a cash-in-hand job, so no
doubt you could probably get it done cheaper... for the cheap way
    out, apparently paint does work
