Paint Choices?

I have my KZ750 running like a top now and would like to address its looks
before I figure out if I want to keep it or not.

What choices do I have for inexpensive, fairly fuel resistant, paint that
will last for awhile? I am planning on clear coting to protect and enhance
    any shine as well.

I have seen enamels and oils at cheap prices, but how do they hold up?

    Thanks,
    Matt

If it's not flakey and crappy, how do you know you're looking at aftermarket
    paint?

  3. No repaint holds up. Don't care if it's a motorcycle, car, truck or
Well your opinion is a load of tripe. IMNSHO...I suggest the original
poster google PPG paints and also peruse the local auto paint stores.
They will even mix up the paint and put it in a spray bottle for you.

  4. Better yet, strip your parts and drop them off at some place like a
discount auto painter. Let them know when they paint a car in the
color you want your bike, to shoot your bike parts at the same time,
then clear coat. Cheaper and better than doing it yourself.

Well, yeah there is that. But what about those of us
who'd rather it were painted in the original colour? Not
many cars get painted say "Metallic Burgundy" the same shade
as a 1979 GL1000. Oh and it isn't 'quiet' the same as the
same colour for the 80' GL1100. See the problem?
That and who wants to wait weeks for your colour to come
    in.
