If you ever get a chance to try Bornem Double, don't bother. It's
    fucking horrid.

  4. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Wicked Uncle Nigel amazed us all with this pearl
    of wisdom:
That reminds me. What did you think of that Banana Ale?

There really is no need to be polite ;o)

  7. Even worse, ~ 2 months ago the Wetherspoons in Godalming had banoffee
bitter on tap. I thought they wouldn't really, so bought some to
    check, it was horrible.

    Garlic bitter.

It was... different. It probably would have been better with food.

If you really want the whole soup-to-nuts garlic experience:

  10. I'd try some, although I think I'd ask for a taster first.

I noticed on the pump label that it had been brewed for a garlic
festival, but didn't expect it to actually taste of garlic.

I took a sip as I started walking outside, noticed the smell of garlic
but didn't initially associate it with the beer - I thought someone had
was eating garlic bread or something.

It wasn't unpleasant, but it took a little getting used to.
