I believe you've owned a Yamaha GTS1000 in the past, correct?

Anything one needs to look for specifically if one would consider
    purchasing such a beast?

BTW, are you still interested in the VFR? It's going for it's MOT
tomorrow and I'd need to know if you're interested or if it goes
    straight on ebay.

Right, the one I'd be looking at is an ABS model.
Weight on the wrists and rock hard seat pretty much rules it out,
    unfortunately :(
Well, that one doesn't and I've already found out how much the luggage
    is...

Mind ewe, it seems that you can get a Wingrack for them. Looks hucking
    fugly, tho'.

I think it is an ABS one.
There's a company in the Netherlands that still supplies them,
    supposedly. For a paltry E550.

Heh. My home office looks like that also.

    Hrmpfmbl.

Well, it's going to the MOT station tomorrow and hopefully it'll
pass. Let's take it from there...

The problem is that I've already found a replacement[1] for it *if* I
can find the space. And that's only forthcoming if I can get rid of the
    VFR.

[1] I don't think Lozzo would appreciate the replacement. Sorry, I seem
to be genetically disposed to buy certain vehicles, like BMW bikes and
    Mazdas with rotary engines.

Speaking of which, I wish I'd never got rid of my NSU RO80.
Unfortunately, the previous owner had installed a 5 cylinder Audi
engine and gearbox, but I knew where the original rotary engine was
and always wanted to get it back...

    The heathen.
Heh. They're supposedly nice cars but they rust like an Alfa that's been
in the salt spray chamber for too long.

Saw that, thanks - whenever something from the past comes up I just
have to go and see if there are still any around on Ebay. That's the
first time I've actually seen a rotary engine in situ (although as a
teenager I saw the Suzuki RE5 in the local showroom at the time I
bought my CJ250T). Squinting round Ebay led me to search out other
old cage favourites that I've owned and loved - Citroen CX are
virtually all gone now and there are more of my other favourite, the
P5 Rover, on Ebay. I assume that all Fiat 132's have rusted away too.
Blimey, there's even a couple of Hillman Avengers there too :)

This was a DW19, with the single headlights rather than the DS that had
    the double 'turning' ones.

He also modded the hydraulic suspension so it had this much <fx: holds
out hands oustretched in a vertical plane> travel. It was quite a sight
at full height. He did this because going to various rallies and
caravan sites[1] invariably involved driving across rough-ish fields.

    [1] Yes, yes, I know.

I'd forgotten about the Mehari! The last one is very 'you'.
Quite. It's incredible how many still-desirable cars they made.

My mum had a a Bijou. Painted purple and white!

I much preferred the earlier 2.4 CX - the auto box changed at just the
right times for overtaking etc, whereas the later 2.5 just didn't seem
to have the same pulling power. A friend of mine has a 2.4 Prestige
still in reasonable running order I believe. As a kid, my choirmaster
had a Diane which did astronomical miles. Traction Avant would do me,
    or the Mehari.
