I've just bimbled home the scenic route; through Wootton Bassett, Ashton
Keynes, Cirencester then up the A345. As you didn't pass me I presume
you went the dual carriageway way.

I've often wondered how much time using that route saves, so how long
    have you been home?

    45 miles in 47 minutes for me - including a petrol stop :) But that's A4 &
    A34.

I have to say though, 10 more miles and I would have been blind - never seen
    so many bug splats.

Mine was 43 miles (according to autoroute) in 49 minutes with no petrol
stop but an awful lot of wibbly wobbly bits

For the love of tiny Tim; what were you doing? Picking fucking flowers?

I could have gone this evening as I didn't make the meeting so didn't get
to do my famed "Lenin hailing a taxi" impression. Which is actually more
Soviet bureaucrat in an ill fitting suit. Comrade.

Dropped BiL off at Southampton airport, exhaust on the Saab decided that
moment to crack and fall apart which took a couple of hours to sort.
Hours, TBH, I didn't have to spare.

I had to leave the 'cause' and Selhurst to my colleagues. Anyway I could
have come over to Avebury but went for a nice swim in the sea and a fish
and chip supper instead. I'm Alf Tupper me.

Not going above 75 on the A4,obeying the bits that don't have the little
white signs, filling up with petrol, not going above 100 on the A34 (obeying
the 40 bit through the road works - it all adds time)

    Next question? :)

60mph average speed isn't bad considering I wasn't pushing it and being
    'good'.

I was glad I choose a relatively 'straight' route considering how little I
    could see :)

Turning my head worked well... until that bit of visor filled up with bugs
    too.

I don't know what I went through, but the front of the GSXR is almost brown.
God knows what state the air filter is in :)

    Still, a nice evening out.

Maybe the lights are really bad and he's still trying to get out of Avebury?
    :)

No; I went via Malmesbury. Took it fairly steady from Cirencester as I
was getting low on fuel. But I did manage to get 130 miles out of a tank.
    75.5 hours.

Actually, they were better than I recalled. I think it's because I've
fiddled with the suspension a bit and the lights are now pointing at the
    road.
