I somehow doubt it ... unless it'll impress rich girlies?

I went 'in at the French end' so missed that..

Also got some (now tasted and perfectly acceptable but not special.)

    2002 Cuvée des Arcades Cahors

£3.49 a bottle, a good glugger at a silly price.. It's just like being
    in France!

No, being 'in Marbella' involves pain, paperwork and crying french
    women.

I'll look out for that at the weekend.

    I got a 3L box of own-brand Soave from Sainos last week - I didn't have
particularly high hopes for it, but it turned out to be perfectly
    acceptible quaffing[1] wine.

    Which wasn't bad for £7.00

[1] something to drink with spicy food[2] no pointing in wasting a
    decent white[2]
[2] and yes, I know I should drink /red/ wine with spicy food - bite
    me.

Y'know, you could be right. I won't be getting a second bottle, that's
    for sure...

It could be the Sauvignon that I don't like, but it seems to have a
really strong taste ... that's not really of anything

Very odd. It tastes exactly the same as a Brampton I tried last month.
Hmm, except that was a Cabernet / Merlot. Still not nice, though...

    Could be...
Well, the taste is 'leather'. Yep, that's the official 'pencil box'
description of the taste, and I'm definitely not a fan
Very possibly as veggie food is usually quite subtle - although I don't
think that wine would be okay even with a Madras. Well, possibly once
you're half way through the meal it might be okay
I almost started a page about my discovery of wine, but it seemed a
little sad ... which means I probably will...

Oh, I've finally got a VHS player. 'Priest' was excellent (good job Nik
doesn't live here anymore 'cos I don't think I could've handled all the
homophobic crap that would've come out...). Next up is 'Lovely &
Amazing', once I've finished my workout

    Cheers

Good! Glad you enjoyed it. It bears another watching, actually.
Really? I'd have had him down as a fairly open-minded sort,
particularly given his own unconventional tastes and lifestyle. Still
takes all sorts to make a world.
