I was ordering stuff for the R100RS from Motobins last night to smooth
it out some more (1) and it struck me that we both have bikes that the
    other likes.....(2)

    (1) new style Bosch coil, surefoot sidestand, carb o-rings, plug leads
and finally one of the OEM tyre pumps that sits in the upper frame
    rail
    (2) I'll get my coat

What's the full SP on the RS, then? I know you posted it a while back.
    Got any pictures?

The values are rather different unfortunately or it would work quite
    nicely.
If it was just for me we could have simply exchanged bikes for a while
allowing you to write up a SOB renewed/reviewed column ;o)

Yes, they are rather. I reckon the XS is worth 1200-1400, and the BMW is
probably worth another 300-400 quid on top.

Hm. Don't fancy a Honda 125 as well, do you?

    Well, quite...

You're not thinking of passing on the CB125, are you?

  9. Well, I was thinking vaguely of CB125+XS650 = R100RS....

Gawd, they're still trying to flog this thing? They've had that in
stock about four years ago when I bought my Bimota from them...

It depends on which model they are. R100RSs seem hold their value
rather well, the others not quite.

  16. Monolever ones are *definitely* worth less than earlier RSs - they're
appreciably slower and thirstier. However, one that's been carefully
improved and modded like Hog's is worth more than a stock monolever, to
    the right buyer.

Yeah, more miles and not even remotely as sorted out. For £1400 it
would be good though, allowing £600 to get it fettled.

Yes, to anyone who plans to ride the bike a monolever is FAR better.
It only takes an exhaust system and carb change to put the power back
(1). The carbs cost me £60 through the club. With a couple of long
reverse cone megaphone exhausts the RS's sound *marvellous*. Oooh now
    I think of it ;o)

It's been said before but the twin shock R100RS has a litany of
    hassles:
    Crap forks
    Crap brakes
    Crap yokes
    Crap wheels
    Crap wheel bearings
    Crap gearbox
    Crap swinging arm
    Crap electrics
    Crap standard ignition
    Crap handling off a motorway

All it has is a lovely engine, a wonderful fairing and the frames are
    extremely well painted .

    (1) Bit like a Bandit12 then!

I really have no use for a CB125 sadly and it would cost a mint to
visit with a car and 2 bike trailer on the ferry, like several hundred
    pounds.
I'd really like to get the RS properly sorted with the carbs and some
free flowing silencers. It deserves them. Where can one buy decent
quality reverse cone megs these days?
