    time to get used to.

    because I've been in Melbourne for the past 8 years

    taking it with you to NZ and importing it permanently which means
    paying GST of 12.5%, based on NZ Customs valuation - see
    http://www.customs.govt.nz/travellers/motor+vehicles/when+customs+charges+are+payable.asp
    and selling it to a local before you eventually return to the UK.

    Some bikes are horrendously expensive in NZ because of the small
    marketplace.
