Sorry 'bout this, I see many people use you as the resident valuer .. ;)

My ebay listing (No 140105908490) for a KMX 200. Is it me or am I asking
too much? I thought I'd covered the bases, and think the listing says it's
not a particularly good example of the model, but I've had so many bloody
stupid questions, asking for a Buy It Now, will I ship overseas, whjat's the
Reg. No. etc. I know most of the scams, I think, but I sometimes feel it's
always and only me that gets the loonies whenever I try to sell anything.

    Am I getting paranoid?

    Wossitwurf really?

  2. No V5 therefore it's nicked?

  3. It's been nicked at some stage, right? I'd be suspicious, too.

Dunno, honestly. Frame and Engine Numbers are there, but I guess it could
    have been.

We don't know, I guess it could have been, though the frame and engine
numbers are there and match. TBH we've not checked into it too thoroughly
... never got round to it.

Is it worth, do you think, pulling the auction and checking with the police
    first?

If it _is_ found to be nicked, what happens? Do the Police confiscate it?
If it's found to be kosher, do we get a Police Report saying as such?

We didn't pay a lot for it, so not too worried about it really.

So what? Teenage scrotes don't ring bikes. They just rip off the plate
and tax disc and hammer it round waste ground. Replacement ignition
switch and no docs? It's hotter than a barbecue in Riyadh, for ****'s
    sake.

TBH we've not checked into it too thoroughly
Not necessarily. The police can say that it's not reported as stolen,
which doesn't mean that it's clean - just that nobody's reported it.
    definitely nicked, then.

I would be, if I were selling it. Paul, you've got a good chance of
being kicked off Ebay and having some big bloke with his mates, or
Plod, or both, banging on your door. Pull the auction *now*!

We bought the switch, along with a few of decent bits (separately off ebay
and local boot sales etc) which we swapped out ('cept for rear brake) with a
view to getting it roadworthy(ish). When we bought it we got a receipt with
the sellers name, address (where we also collected it from) and signature
with a line (which we specifically asked for) saying "Previously registered,
documents and registration plate and number lost."

    I suppose we're a tad naive ...
    Thought so.
Well, we've sort of pulled it. We're 'conducting further investigations' as
    I write .. ;)
