  1. Heh. I had to think about that.

    "Call me a cab!"

    "OK, honey, you're a cab."

  3. It's not a witticism I've *ever* heard before. There are hidden depths
    to the Olson, I think.

I'm wondering what he's written for the military, and hoping it's not
any critical like Trident launch instructions. Or maybe a bomb disposal
guide detailing whether to cut the blue or red wire.

I dunno, out of Emap, Bauer, and BAE, I know which one I preferred
working for. It was the one that didn't make me write fucking
    Smalltalk.

probably about as much as he's written for the military.

And for the record, for me, the only Emap publication I did much work
    for was "CU Amiga".

True, but for me it was a PITA in SA having to follow a product through
proof of concept, development, manufacture etc all the way to acceptance
while maintaining a full documentation set. This can take years and
involve hundreds of changes, mostly small but usually at least one major
rewrite in a game of constantly mobile goalposts.

2.1.3.21 Turn squelch knob counterclockwise until noise is just eliminated
2.1.3.21 Turn squelch knob anticlockwise until noise is just eliminated

    Grrrrr.
But at least you get paid on time.

My OO is already pretty fucking good. Bug fixing Smalltalk is not my
idea of fun. Joys of still supporting code the company wrote 15 years
ago. But I suppose both Emap and Bauer quite like being able to send
    bills for adverts.

Being a Girl she is reasonably determined so this might not be too much
    of an issue.
That's very kind. I may take you up on that at the appropriate time.

Your comments quoted above. I think he wants to know how you can make
