Paging TOG, PIP and anyone with B12 prices

  1. '99 Bandit 1200 130ish bhp looks unfaired but with some sort of mini
    screen/fairing.

    5k'ish miles
    Tax and Test
    Data Tag
Dynojet and K and N filters
    Race can (and original)

It's in the correct colour and is apparently minty - not seen in flesh yet.

    Asking circa 2800 squiddlies.
What would be a fair offer? (and it's a long way (4 hours each way) to
    view/get)

    Likewise
    '99 Bandit 1200 unfaired
    8k'ish miles
    Data tag
    Alarmed - type unspecified
    Tax and Test
    One owner from new
    Dry use only (yeah right)
    Correct colour.

looks like it needs a clean, not seen in flesh, but only 30 mins away.

    Asking 3200.

I prefer the price, looks and specs of the former but it's a hell of a
long way, given I'll be needing to blag a lift :(

Dunno about the prices (apart from the former looking a little low)
but why not find out if there is a ukrmer in the local who can go and
view it for you? Then at least you won't be wasting a trip if it's
    not as advertised.

  3. Good plan, although I'd hate to mention where it is for someone else to
beat me to it and I can't recall anyone ever saying that they live in
    the area in question.

I'll do a google groups and see if my memory is correct...

    Thanks

    don't worry, I won't snipe it. There's a small->fair chance I might be
in the market for a B12 in a couple of months, but I don't want
another black one - quite fancy the dark blue metallic.

  8. Nice. but not perfect of course. IIRC there was a dark blue one up for
grabs in the last edition at a good price - not good enough to tempt me
away from the proper colour though.

well, I've had - and written off - a black one - another would seem to
be tempting fate. And the red ones look horrible. The silver is nice,
but I think that was a parallel import colour only.
"edition"? You mean you *aren't* using the search-by-area-and-price
    engine on www.biketrader.co.uk ?

  10. I see your points.
Correct, I'm not using bike trader.

As everybody knows, the dark green ones were the best.

I've mentioned it before - I'm not allowed a green bike.

Remarkably low mileage for a bike that has had such works done to it.
Price sounds very fair, but I'd be careful if it has what appears to
be Dynojet Stage 2 tuning. If you're planning to put a lot of miles
on it, your range will be less than 100 miles to reserve.

I assume it has the separate K&N filters and no airbox. This is a
pain in the arse to start in cold weather and tends to misfiring when
out in the rain. It is alos painfully obvious to an insurance
assessor ... not to mention it will prolly run like a pig when you put
the standard can back on for MoT.

I would assume that is reflected in the price, but be aware of the
potential pitfalls before parting with the hard-earned. I'd offer
2,300 and wouldn't go beyond 2,600 - if it came with the standard
    airbox, needles/jets and filter.
This one is worth a look. As you've found, original (non fucked-about
with) 1200 Bandits are scarce and they don't occur for less than three
grand. If this one is pukka and has no mods, it is prolly worth 3
grand. You'll want a FSH (such as it will be) for that - but bear in
mind that there are time (or age) related services that should have
been carrried out even if the mileage doesn't appear to warrant it.

In short, go look at the local(ish) one. Knock him down three hundred
and you've got a bargain - use the (undoubted) lack of servicing as a
    lever.
