For serious Morris aficianados, there will be 40+ Morris sides at the
Upton Upon Severn Folk Festival this weekend. Plus the usual pub music
sessions. Weather looks as if it won't be as good as the last two years
    though.

  3. A mate will be dancing there.

We do an Upton on Severn stick dance, in fact.

My side is doing seven pubs on Bank Holiday Monday, from 11am. I
confidently expect to be ratfucked by lunchtime.

I'd come and watch (heckle) but already going to some May Day bash at
    Northill (Bedfordshire).

I thought it was Southill? I've certainly danced around it on several
occasions. I believe there's one other that survived Cromwell down in
    Somerset somewhere.

I was told at school it was the Northill one. I knew Jimmy Lane's[1]
daughter Belinda many years ago, she'd lived in Northill all her life
and told me the same thing.

Bloody hell, I remember Jimmy Lane. I remember his son too. There's a
great not-for-publication story about him. Remind me next time I see
    you.

Oh please. I still see Belinda now and then, she hasn't changed a great
deal. She was the first person to let me ride an RD, her 200. Once my
sister saw I could ride it properly she let me have a go on her 250, and
so my life-long affair with RDs began.

Northill and that'll do for me.

    That'd be OK.
