Going to look at a 2003 1150GS tomorrow. It's got ABS, panniers, h/grips,
FBMWSH. Private seller who's owned it from new and done 16000 miles.
    What's it worth?

B.G. Finlay emerged from their own little world to say
My local dealer has 2x 2002 models for sale at £6795: both are blue/white
and one has been in stock a while. Apparently demand is for the 1150GSA
    or new 1200s.

Looking at posts such as this
    http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54469 it appears that the
market for newish standard R1150Gs has stagnated. Go through the other threads
in the same section and you'll get similar vibes. Yesterday, on Ebay,
    this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4578545147&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MESE:IT&rd=1
only got up to £5500 and failed to make reserve.

    Parkers suggests £7k +/- £200 depending on whether it's a 52/03/53 plate and
    having unrealistically low mileage.
If the owner really wants to sell, and has researched the market, then
I reckon they will take £6500 but I'd haggle like **** on £6k. If they are
selling to buy another bike then a dealer has probably offered them £5500

Weirdly, the market for older R-GS is buoyant. People want the early ones
as the build quality was better and they don't have the stupid servo brakes.
    A 1999 T reg can sell for £4500-5000.

It was advertised locally a fortnight ago for 6750 and again last saturday
for 6500. After contacting the bloke on sunday he's been in touch twice asking
if I'm still interested. I reckoned on 6000 too and yes he is buying another BM.

He's getting desperate then. Any idea how soon before he takes delivery of
the new bike? Time for a lot of teeth sucking and dithering. Offer him
£5500 and make him think you are doing him a big favour paying £5700.

Seems that the GS market has too many people with the "it's 2 years old so
must be replaced" attitude. They'll move along to the next fashion
accessory soon and I reckon residuals will firm up again. Great time to buy
    though.
