I'm assuming that the aircraft had a working engine beforehand and only
started gliding after Timo sat in it.

Ever been up in a glider? I can recommend the winch launch.

Yes, I have, and only by winch. Never by aerotow. As you say, a winch
launch is awesome.

 

I recommend a bungee launch over a gorge now sir has experienced the winch
)

 

Aerotowing is interesting too. The trick seems to be to absolutely keep the
nose pointed at the tow-plane, and the glider's wings parallel with the
tow-plane's. Video-game stuff.

I was always crap at flight sims, even while I was current.
