Low-miler Monlever R80, with a very odd fairing (Pichler, or an S type
fairing with hand guard extenders?), plus a pair of equally odd
    panniers.

    Thoughts?

Looks like an S fairing with uberugly bolt on hand shields plus
    legshields from a bygone age

Panniers look to be Craven fibreglass jobbies from the 70's.

The price is about right if you're going to strip off all the crap

Single disc, so check saddle for creases. I've seen leg-guards like that
before, not sure where. The panniers are Craven Dolomites, despite the BMW
badges and the serious hi-viz rear lighting setup.

Matey sounds like someone who bought the thing a year or so ago to get back
into bikes, and has realised what a slow old truck it is. I'd guess all the
improvements were done by a previous owner who either did a million miles on
it, or did that on his previous bike and was setting this up as a
replacement. All the improvements look characteristic of a high-mileage
touring chap of a previous generation.

Bearing in mind that old boxers can wear their miles lightly, to the casual
eye, and the fact than no-one would repaint a bike like that at 5623 miles,
it's got to have been round the clock.

An old 100S fairing with tupperwear bolted on the sides. It is truly
    horrible.

    Get a sidecar on it.

I've got one sitting in the back garden that we could bodge onto it...

Has the wrong valve covers for the year I think. At that age they had the
    more angular valve covers

  9. Yes, I noticed that. Lots of people fit round covers because they just
    like the look of them.
