A scratch is a scratch, but I'd not wish lasting neck injuries on
enemies. If this bothers you why not go and set up
    uk.rec.motorcycles.how.it.used.to.be ?

    No it's not.
I got a whiplash injury about 12 years ago but didn't realise it.
It got increasingly worse over the years.

So much so I had real problems getting my right arm above shoulder
    height.
3 months off work and loads of physio, exercises and 4 visits to a
    chiropractor.

What's really scarey is that you body _will_ alter the way you move
without you even realising that you're doing it.

I now got 90% mobility in my right arm and no pain.
    Seek help.

And that could be a reply to so many of the posters in here at the
    moment.

You wouldn't have said that if you were around in the old days.

    Good news.

I hope it doesnt hurt for too long, chap.

Better warn SO that you may get a bit snappy when it hurts, eh? ;-)

I wasn't around in the old days, but I still wrote UKRM's first ever
post according to google. So, one could apply a freaky logic that says
nobody knows about the *old* days, as they weren't there posting before
the group was formed... except for me.

Yeah, it's a Usenet singularity, mofos!

I was thinking more of the old days in real life, you know back in the times
where bike test examiners had to stand at the side of the road and you were
allowed to crash/speed/shoot up during your test providing you did it round
    the corner from the examiner.

In fairness to the old duffer - he did try very hard to get me - you must
    pay well?

Obtaining minor injuries - my area of expertise
Oral ibuprofen's probably just as good, but if you (or someone else) massage
correctly, you get a double benefit. If you don't know: basic massage
technique is to always push towards the heart, and don't press hard on the
    bony bits.

And if you break a nail, make sure you see a manicurist straight away. Five
years with my cuticles in traction, just because I thought 'it'll be alright
    in the morning'. Tragic.

  13. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Les Goodwin
Hmm... interesting. 10 years ago and 12 years ago were the two left
    shoulder car/bike/tarmac interfaces.

I'll chase that up, thanks. As it stands just now, my left arm won't go
much above shoulder height, but I'd always put that down to the
interesting non-standard angles the bones are now.

You were waching me? I hit the kerb around the corner from the
examiner, he saw it and apparently was impressed with how I stopped on
the bike. Set away slowly while he could see you, then go like mad
around 2 sections until nearing the examiner again. Remember it well.

I'm one of the people that try not to take drugs. Then when I want to
take them I haven't got any in the house. The only thing I'd bother
    with was Ibuprofen anyhow.

I was thinking the same thing. It's sickening how the same people who
complain about their rising insurance costs and ambulance-chasing lawyers
are amongst the first to yell about screwing the insurance companies for
    everything you can get.
