    PlayStationPortable.

I'm very curious as to where he got one for £122, as I'd very much
    like one myself.

Wish I'd bought a couple actually could have flogged them on for a tidy
profit. I think they are about £150 if imported from the web which is
still probably cheaper than they will be when they release the UK model.

Maybe I'll fix up another trip and take a bigger suitcase.

Right now I can't even get my mileage paid to visit one of my team in a
different office, unless for some reason it's billable to a customer
project. So, rather than fund it myself I'm just not going.

Fucking accountants that have never left the office.

Well well well. Get shacked up with the stunner. It may not last,
but you'll be left with some good video footage.

  13. Didn't TOG do that once? I don't recall if he got it or not,
but I'm pretty sure he asked.

  17. What are these "expenses" you refer to?

As we aren't even allowed to have coffee or tea provided for internal
meetings I fail to see how I could ever claim for "expenses" from LU or
    TfL.

What about if you were sent away to a conference, or a meeting with a
    supplier?

  19. Sorry what are these conferences and supplier meetings you talk about? I
    don't do those any more.

In the pre-TfL days then clearly there were occasions when expenses were
paid and to be fair there was some scrutiny but it was not oppressive
and people were trusted not to take the piss. Obviously given our drugs
and alcohol policies (as well as a notorious newspaper report about
Railtrack managers getting pissed out of their brains on a "jolly") you
would not be expected to get rat arsed on the company's money . Now it
is penny pinching gone mad - unless you are an American senior manager
and then it doesn't matter how much you get paid. All hotel bookings
are vetted and we're not allowed to choose anything better than 3 stars,
travel options are very restricted and I would expect a real challenge
on all expenses. While I fully accept we are spending public money
rather than shareholders (potential) profits I do fail to see the point
about forcing employees to don sack cloth and ashes and eat bread and
water just because your employer is TfL.

You wouldn't want to see the business ethics or corporate hospitality
policies - they are pretty unbelievable too. However they are obviously
written in another language or are not applicable for certain higher
grades or with respect to certain suppliers but that would be a whole
    other set of stories.
