You can say it. I refuse to believe you though.

Today one of the chaps at work spent half an hour trying to convince me
a hayabusa is a sensible bike, and I *almost* believed him.

Does it really not help at all? I wouldn't expect to stay dry behind it,
but surely it helps keep the worst of the rain off your torso. Or is it
no better than an unfaired bike?

I think it's a _lot_ better than an unfaired bike at protecting the
chest and front against rain, and also the back, where there's a much
reduced amount of backwash with a fairing than without.

I'm used to bikes with relatively small fairings - the Tiger; TDMs before
that. They don't keep you dry but they're quite useful. One doesn't tend
to get driving rain into your chest, so a half-decent jacket will usually
    keep you dry.

The Zed is very different. For a start, when I wear two-peice waterproofs
on the Tiger I stay dry; on the Zed I get damp patches around my waist.

I also find that on the Zed, when it's dry the front of my jacket gets
plasterred with flies; on the Tiger they only get my shoulders.
