Which bike are they for? I don't know if any of your bikes have an
aluminium swinging arm but if they don't you'll need a magicians wand
rather than a welding set to glue those in place.

I'm sure someone with a milling machine could make a pair from steel
if someone local to him could be arsed to bring home something
suitable next time they went near their workshops.

  3. Assuming the swing arm is Ali too then it shouldnt be a problem for a
    decent welder.

CBX: cheap way of getting the monoshock box-section ali swinger onto
    the twin-shock frame.

Old CBX-B and C arms are relatively cheap, and plentiful.
    Hmm.

If it's ali, welding wouldn't be a problem. But if it's a monoshock
arm, are the bits of the arm you'd weld them onto up to the job? Not
sure I'd want to risk it.

Well, Honda thought them strong enough for holding a wheel in place.

They'll only sit on top of the flat bit, much like the mounts on the
    CB13's ally swinging arm.

I don't anticipate any cutting taking place.

  7. My brother whos a metal basher said it shouldnt be a problem as long
as the welds are full seam and the bit your welding it to hasnt been
    stressed over its design loads

I'd be happy having steel brackets welded onto a fabricated steel
swinging arm but I'm not sure I'd be too happy welding ally brackets
onto an ally swinging arm. It's just that it's an important part of
the frame and would be subjected to some heavy stresses so I'd never
really be confident caning the bike into corners again.
take that discussion to the 'A' list rather than cluttering up this
    place.
