  2. For those keeping tabs on XH558, there was a fast taxi run on Friday
(videos on the TVOC site) and expected first flight sometime this week,
    weather permitting.

The problem is that they're running out of a particular o-ring because
of the insistence that they pull the MCD's after every engine run. One
of the RR Heritage Trust guys we know was on the scrounge last week.
Hopefully we sorted him out, but you've just reminded me to check on
Monday. I fail to see why they couldn't inspect the o-rings and re-fit
    them.

If they insist on doing it every time, that qualifies as a Major Compulsive
    Disorder.

Magnetic Chip Detectors. They're located on several different parts of
the oil system to diagnose bearing failures. I often get samples to
    analyse for bearing alloys.

    I wouldn't disagree.

Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the
river cleaned out in a day.
