OK it's a long shot and a big one. It requires a tow car/car trailer or
recovery truck. Birmingham airport to Stranraer. Compensation and tokens
    as required.

Hmm, that's a long tow. After my experience of nearly getting it all sideways
on the M62 with the Ginetta on a trailer behind the VOLVO I'll pass on this.

AA membership and time travel is the way to go IMHO.

    'Hog fumbled, fiddled and fingered:
Don't the AA reckon it's the driver not the vehicle thats covered so all
you really need is <cough> to find an AA member who'll own up to driving
at the time of the "incident"?

    1. That depends on the type of cover.

    2. It used to be the case that finding a member of a recovery
organisation to 'own up to' your vehicle and its problems was quite
easy (i) but now they have introduced limited numbers(ii) of callouts
it isn't so easy as the third party would have to use one of their
    'credits' for your benefit.

    i. I used to do work for National Breakdown and Britannia Rescue
amongst others; it was quite common to respond to a callout for a
member in a Nissan Micra and after driving around the area for ten
minutes give in and ask the red-faced chap who had been hopping up and
down waving his membership card whether he had "traded the Micra in
for the Jag with the bonnet up yesterday" *ahem*

ii. Three per annum for the AA, five for the RAC on their top level
of membership, I believe. Not only that, but there is a 'silent
sliding scale' in operation for the type of callout: 1 point for a
morning non-start requiring a patrolman in a van for ten minutes, more
for a 500-mile recovery job. I stand to be corrected by SWK,
    obviously.

    Pip barfed:
Gaffa tape, local bodge repairs if needed and drive it back?

    What I'd do.

See upthere ^ for the worthiness of the front suspension leg. More'n just
dents and glass by the sound of it.
