.... any of you chaps know of an area called Windle?

Specifically a road called "Highlands Brow"?

I'm tracking back me roots, and it seems I'm a closet Norvern Munkey.

Just had a look in my Murkeyside A-Z and there's no mention of a
    "Highlands Brow"
Don't hang it too low or your cloth cap'll fall off.

Ah. I can see Windle Hall on't map.
Not in 1851 it wasn't. It were miner's cottages.
Three guesses where the *entire* family worked in 1871; 81; 91 and
    1901.

    They were big families, too.
I'm doing fine, apart from that - in 3 different census' it's down as
    Highland; Highlands, and Islands.

Sounds a bit Jockish to me.

At least me mum's mum's side are all Kentish farm labourers.

Mum's great-grandad was a Pimlico rag and bone merchant.

Started of 'umble, and stayed there.

    Ta very much.

I was thinking of getting some snaps if were passing, like.

Wasn't Merseyside created by the councils in the 1970's? Up until that
point we were still classed as Lancashire [1] so you probably were too.

[1] Lancashire Life this month features my locality, so there. See, I
    sed I wuzn't fibbing.
