10pm Channel 4, your hero - Nathan Barley

"This new series from Chris Morris is impossible to classify.
Described as a sitcom, there's very little "sit" while the "com" is
specific and an acquired taste. But that's Chris Morris, guerrilla
comedy genius behind The Day Today, for you. Here he satirises the
tediously trendy world of London "fashionistas" and media types. The
eponymous Nathan Barley is an idiot who thinks he's deeply cool, as he
dresses in urban hip clothes and runs a ridiculous website called
Trashbat. He's a buffoon, but his Trashbat antics have won him a firm
following among young hip boys who work for absurd magazines. There
are moments of Morris madness and it's a welcome comic oddity, though
possibly one with limited appeal outside London's media maelstrom. "

Ah so that's why they do all this whizzy TV on your computer gubbins.

It's all a blind. In fact they're actually watching soaps in a post
ironic fashion and the Cyberpunk and hip comedy is all for show?

I've not seen it yet (waiting for it to appear on uknova) but
I was rather sceptical about a 25-word fortnightly skit working
    as a half-hour weekly sitcom.

Not to mention that everything Charlie Brooker touches (on tv)
    turns to shit.

How good does a half-hour sitcom have to be to make it worthwhile committing
half an hour of your life to it?

I liked it - but then I'm not really a telly person - so any time spent in
front of the 'magic light box with the dancing sprites' is good.

it was better than I expected it to be. But then, "though
possibly one with limited appeal outside London's media maelstrom" is
key. If you've not worked for a London nu-media firm, you'll not see
    the point.

i.e. the characters in the show are only a very mild exaggeration of
what the cunts are actually like. I've worked for more than one outfit
where grown men would come to work wearing 3/4-length trousers on
    fold-up push-scooters.

no. Have you ever tried an adult-size push-scooter though, they're
    quite good fun!!

I had a go on one of those BMX styled ones when I was in my early teens,
it was a laugh, but took more effort than a BMX.
