I never started so I can't help. Daughter on the other hand has been off for

I've been smoking 20 odd years and have given up a few times but never
lasted more than a week.

 

stop buying them, when you go into the shop tell yourself that you can't
buy them. It will take a while but eventually you should brainwash
yourself that you can't buy cigarettes.
