Whats the size of rucksack to get that will sit comfortable and not be
intrusive, and yet hold say a change of clothes and shoes etc?

I guess a 35 litre would do it, but im open to suggestion.

Are there no camping shops on the island for you to go and have a look?

Kriega R35, you won't know you're wearing it even when it's fully
loaded. I have a Knox as well, but the Kriega beats it hands down for
    practicality and unobtrusiveness

Second that. I can get a 15in laptop and a change of clothes in mine
    for a day at work.
