Has anybody got "TT Superbikes" yet then?

I see Play are doing is for £27 but I've never seriously played a bike
racing game before and I'm not sure if I'd get bored just doing the same
    course over and over again.

I was going to rent it from the DVD shop the other night, but they don't
    have a copy in yet.

So any early adopters out there with comments?

Is this the TT Isle of Man you're talking about? If so, flook bought a copy.
    Looks nice, sounds shit...

This came up a week or so back. Seems that the game is more of a game
than a simulation of motorcycle dynamics, but still good fun.

Sounds? What does it play like? Is it fun?

What the cheerful looking fast-boy said.

I don't give a shit how it sounds[1], is it good fun. Is it hard enough to
be a challenge yet not so hard that you can't give it a shot when returning
home from a night at the pub?

[1] Assuming it's not the fucking crazy frog sound effect.

And on that note, is GT4 good for a post-beers thrash? Any good if you
get two or more ps2s together? Tried it with steering wheels?

Played it for the first time today, quite impressed with the variety of
crashes (highsides, front end washes away, flip wheelies, etc.) which is a
nice change from the usual bike games where you almost can't fall off!

Not got very far yet but I like the rural/country feel instead of just going
    round a track.

Oh yes. While you can come off the track and spin to a stop you can't
actually roll, damage the car or knock yourself out of the race, so you can
alway complete a lap pin-ball fashion.

Mind you, Bear drives like that even when he's sober.

My best crash to date is I think (it's a bit hard to count) 25 complete
spins before coming to a halt.
It has a LAN mode for 2 PS2's. I have been thinking of borrowing a second
one the next time Bear comes up.
Nope, but I'm quite used to the normal controller now.

Seems like the best idea, since GT4 doesn't have a direct Internet play
    mode, for whatever reason.

Of course Mr Bear could just buy his PS2 and bring it up here for the
    weekend.

My we'd be popular with our respective SOs.

Yes, if you play 2-player on one PS2, you both have to share screen space.

Networked PS2s would have one screen each.

Extra hop, therefore more network delay.

Of course, if it only supports LAN play, you might need to route it via
the PC in an attempt to persuade it that it's not really playing over
    the Internet.

Haven't played it myself yet (nor any other PS2 games for that matter), but
from what I've seen so far, the game looks like fun, should be even more fun
if you've been the the Isle as there is some stunning scenery in the game.
Then again, in the gameplay, there are some slow kneedowncorners that would
make Matt Tab look like a poof, so not really realistic. Also from what I
understand it is fairly difficult but fun nonetheless.

Next time Chris comes over and I'll let him be a judge....

Multiple TVs, PS2s and gubbins = full screen each.
