    Hi Pip & Co.

My beloved '02 ER-5 is due for its 15,000 mile service in 600 miles.

Option 1) I can give my money to a local garage to service and fix
(needs something done with headlamp which isn't 100% secure after the
Road Polishing incident and to say the aim is off would be a big
understatement plus the front fender extender might be out slightly
from when it hit the bank and made a ditch) and I think they'd
probably frown upon the gaffer-tape & freezer bag mod to the clocks
and they would do the absolute minimum amount of work on the machine.

Option 2) I could leave the bike with and give the money to someone
    who knows what they're doing.

I don't want to sound rude, but are you able to service my ER-5? The
reason I ask is because I'd like it looked at by people I can trust
where I know it would be looked after and where my money wouldn't be
    going to waste.

According to the manual, the 15,000 mile service is a major one where
just about everything is checked, so I assume that there will be
plenty of work that needs to be done on it (including any crash damage
that I haven't noticed). While replacing the clocks isn't a priority,
it would be nice if it was able to pass its MOT in February (The
speedo works, but the rev counter doesn't - I'm not sure if a working
rev counter is needed for any reason as part of that test) but if you
are able to look at the bike, do you have a rough idea of what period
of time I may need to leave it with you for?

    Thanks for your consideration.
