Bad form, but this appears to be in the wrong place.

Ooh ta, I'm sure she'll appreciate it. I was thinking of buying her a
    sewing kit.

  6. North Dakota, Alaska, Hawai'i and the UK.

North Dakota is unlikely, Alaska and Hawai'i are on the 'definitely one
    day' list.

Those were all states of mind, right? Either that, or they were all
McDonalds. I can take you to 6 places in my town alone and you'll eat
6 different recipes. Onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, even shrimp,
    along with various herbs.

  10. I never understood why anyone would eat ate a McDonalds, let alone at
breakfast time, when in the US.
I'm not disputing that Hash Browns can be added to and personalised, I
ate plenty of mexican styled Hash Browns when I lived in SoCal.

However, the simple truth is, has browns traditionally and commonally
    are just the potato.

  11. If I was on a bike, perhaps not, but no-one could give me enough
incentive to add an extra 3 days on to the previous trip to make it all
48, when there were so many actual things to see/do ahead of us.

  14. From what I've seen of Alaska, it looks like a beautiful place.

Just taking the coastal train up to Canada, and in/around Vancouver was
good, so I'd love to keep on going NW.

Hawai'i I should have done when I was just a 5 hour plane ride away,
because I'm not sure it's worth it as a standalone trip from Europe.

As a surfer, it's hard for me to disparage Hawaii, but as a tourist, I
    agree. Far too American.
I've never been to the Caribbean, but I'd rank the best tropical
    places I have seen...

    French Polynesia
    Fiji
    Philippines
    Indonesia
    Kenya
    Thailand
    Sri Lanka
    Cook Is.
    Malaysia

All of which are at least as beautiful, far cheaper, and more
    interesting than Hawaii.
