Can anyone recommend a hotel nearish to the Dominion Theatre that's
    good but not silly money?

And a decent restaurant in that area as well?

there probably aren't any. Are you aware that's probably /the/ most
touristy part of London, aren't you?

Then again, it depends on what you mean by both "good" and "silly
    money".
    loads - what sort?

You could try the Selfridges Hotel. It's part of Thistle Hotels IIRC.
I've stayed there twice and it's OK.
There are loads - what type of cuisine? And is this for a posh dinner
or just quick spot of nosebag before the theatre?

The Holiday Inn in Welbeck Street is OK but still over £150,
and just a short walk down Oxford Street.

Did you really want to admit that you're going to see a
    Ben Elton musical about Queen?

Well, I've solved that now. Staying at the Crowne Plaza near St James
park. Only a couple of stops on the tube.
Don't really mind type of cuisine actually. But again, decent, it's
    for our anniversary.

See other post about the hotel.
Decent, it's for our anniversary. Doesn't need to definitely be
pre-theatre as we're down for a few nights.

Got a deluxe suite Crowne Plaza for £250 a night. I like my corporate
    discount.
heheh, yup. My mate is currently playing Galileo in it.

Here are some I've been impressed by recently near-ish to the West
    End:

Cafe des Amis on Hanover Place
    Incognico on Shaftsbury Avenue
    Momo on Heddon Street

Club Gascon is also great, but I suspect Smithfield is a bit out of
    your way.

bad form, but the Quilon Indian restaurant in the Crowne Plaza doesn't
look half bad, though possibly not ideal for an anniversary meal...
