    <London Trivia Mode>
You do know the only line on the Underground to be called the Drain is the
Waterloo & City line (apparently because of the smell)
and I think it only has two stations on it, so not getting on at the
beginning of the line could prove difficult.
You sound like a bit of a twat.

You a cabby or something? I didn't know that, I heard the term used once
    and thought it apt.
Possibly, but any middle aged able bodied person who won't give up their
seat for a much more deserving person is a complete twat.

Well yes, but I don't see why an able-bodied person of the womanly
persuasion is any more entitled to a seat then I - especially considering
how obnoxious many of the London variety are. [1]

Old, infirm etc - absolutely I agree with you - but in other cases my
knees/back are likely to be far more dodgy then theirs so they can bloody
    well stand :)

[1] this, IMO, is different to holding a door open or general courtesy,
    which I do

Oh I agree with that, the only time I ever give up my seat to an able
bodied woman is as a prelude to asking her for a drink [1] I was always
    surprised that this ever worked.

    [1] I don't want to give the impression I'm a letch, I only did this a
few times when I was 20 odd and even then only usually in the height of
    the rutting season (spring)

Kew's nice, and vehicle crimes including bike theft are rare around here
when compared to most of London.

IIRC, It was the staff that started the reference to it as the drain. It
used to be worked by a link of Waterloo BR drivers until it was ceded to
LUL 10 or so years ago.

I've driven one of the 1940 stock, v. similar to 1936 SUB stock, when it
was in BR blue and grey. <happy sigh>

Ealing was[1] always good for totty-filled pubs too.

Dunno whether it's still the same.

There's still plenty of totty around there, but it helps if you speak Polish
    or Slovakian these days :)
(Actually just owning your own property, being unmarried, and having a fat
wallet will pull most of 'em easy peasy even if you're supermegafugly).

We used to tell a joke that went:
    Q. What do you call a pretty girl in Poland?
    A. A tourist.

But having met some of these fine lasses now I take it back, Phwoar!
Communism and cabbage might not have done much for a country's economic
situation but it sure turned out some phit looking burds :)

    [of Ealing]
    supermegafugly).

Cool. I did meet a Slovakian girl a couple of years back. This was
    actually
in my local in Harrow, but I'm fairly sure she said she was staying in
    Ealing.
If I ever get to Skopje I've got a place to stay )

Best place I've been for totty so far - Tallin, Estonia.

    [Snip]
Oslo. Lived there for a couple of years and can confirm that it's
overflowing with amazingly fit leggy blue eyed blonde lasses[1] who don't
wear very much in the summer. Not my first cup of tea are blue eyed blonde
lasses but when they're as fit as that lot were you really have to be very
    impressed indeed.

[1] Norwegian women seem to come in two forms, either super fit stunners or
supermegafugly munters, there's little in between IME.

That's not a particularly bad idea. How long are you expecting to be
away? Of course, I'd have to be offered the job, and decide I want it,
    first.
