When was this? My Father was an officer at Waddington (Flt Lt, 9 Sqdn
IIRC) in the mid '70s.

 

Could be equivalent I guess, I've actually seen it written both ways.

We use it in the same way, some projects only need say 0.1 FTE's to
support, but when all the numbers add up it shows how many people are
needed in the department overall.

 

Yep - here too. Have to use 'quicklisting' instead. I say that's
unfair to intelligent drunks.

Partridge says it's possibly from Romany, roozlo, which means strong,
or from roosher, ex Scots ruser or rooser, a braggart. All sounds a
bit unlikely to me.

Whole and Full are, yes, but Employee and Equivelent mean very
different things. I posted this before you conceded the point
elsewhere in the thread.

Quite, and I haven't heard that anyone has stopped using "Paki's" least of
all themselves.

factor of 1.5, you need one-and-a-half full time employees to make up one
FTE, cos at any given time, a third of your troops are
sick/hols/training/maternity/jacked and not yet replaced - or whatever. If
you're staffing a callcentre and need 100 FTEs to handle predicted incoming
calls, then you *should* be hiring 150 people. They never do, of course.
